S2 Wk11 // study week - Everything In-Between group exhibition

Last Friday, the group exhibition I'm a part of opened at The Tuesday Club, Auckland. It was put together by some of the graduates from last year's BFA programme and was originally intended to make up for the graduating exhibition we missed out on last year due to lockdowns, and was delayed while we tried to find a suitable venue to host it, so it's been in planning for while. Friends and fellow graduates Bijoux, Toni and Esther were the main coordinators, and we were lucky to have it promoted as part of Auckland's Art in the City program.

I put forward my kaikо̄mako prints as part of it, this time in a larger format to test out a different scale (I'm glad I did but in hindsight there are other works of mine that would have probably been better suited to the group environment; a learning experience as always). The wall I was given was split in two parts, hence the installation layout. I think the larger scale makes some of the blurring and digitality in the images a bit more apparent, and under softer lighting they would probably look a bit nicer than they do here. Also ended up installing using small nails, which resolved the issue of the wall texture coming through the print when using tape (something to keep in mind for EOY).

More images of the actual exhibition to come in future...
