Following on from the LIDAR scans I've been making, I wanted to find a way to create similar digital objects without having to rely on borrowing other people's devices to do so (I don't own any Apple products or devices capable of taking the scans myself). I did find a free photogrammetry programme online called Meshroom which can achieve the same result from standard photographs and can make 3D objects from those taken with a smartphone or DSLR.

Above is part of the process of programme organising some photos of a bumblebee I took on a corn plan in my flat's garden - I chose this as I wanted to see if the programme could handle small subjects. Overall it seems to create a very similar effect to the LIDAR scans, though perhaps with less detail.
Also found a tutorial on how to work with these objects in Blender (what I'm familiar with now)
